Weapon Assembler (157jc) – Erith, Kent – £23 – 25k + Benefits


My client, who design, develop, manufacture, and sell a complete range of state-of-the-art small calibre weapons systems to clients across the globe and are now seeking to recruit Weapon Assemblers to join their expanding production team.


You will be reporting to the Assembly Manager and your duties will include:

·         Correctly identifying parts and assembling into the various assemblies used in the production of all company products

·         Carrying out hand painting/marking operations on components

·         Building weapon sub-assemblies and other ancillary equipment to comply with the requirements as set out on job cards, works orders, drawings, quality procedures, work instructions and other specified requirements.

·         Assembly of small parts with scrupulous attention to detail and engineering compliance / tolerances.

·         Carrying out degreasing on components where required

·         Assisting with the preservation, packing and despatch of products

·         Carry out cleaning of weapons following testing

·         Support the Range Team on the range as and when required.

·         Ensuring all work undertaken in-house is conducted in a manner to comply with the requirements of Company’s Quality Manuals, Work Instructions, Health and Safety Instructions as well as all legal obligations pertaining to the safe handling and storage of armaments/weapons under the Company Section 5 approval

·         Maintaining the workplace in a clean and tidy state at all times


To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills

·         Meticulous accuracy & attention to detail with a genuine mechanical interest and ability.

·         Experience of a production environment with knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems.

·         Good communication skills with appreciation of supporting department Design, Purchasing & Inspection needs.

·         Commercial manufacturing skills with the ability to work both unaided & within a team.

·         A high level of proactivity, fault finding & problem solving.

·         Some computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word & Excel.

·         The physical ability to carry out manual handling tasks

·         The ability to follow processes accurately

·         Strong attention to details

·         Good numeracy skills

·         Good Communication Skills

·         Enthusiasm, professional attitude and willingness to learn

·         Counterbalance Forklift Truck Certification would be advantageous


The ideal candidate would be someone who has a background in metalsmithing or a willingness to learn and develop new skills, the ideal candidate would probably come from the REME, RN or RAF, or similar and has done a similar role in the past.


In return they are offering an excellent starting salary, with 25 days + Bank Holidays for a 37 ½ hour week, which is 0730 to 1615 Mon to Thurs with ½ day Friday, HOWEVER they are trailing a new working practice where you will work Mon to Thurs 0630 to 1620 and receive a 3-day weekend. There is also company pension and the possibility of an annual bonus on sales which has been paid for the last 10 years on the bounce.
